The Rules of Intestacy

The statutory limits are changing on 26th July 2023

This means that for those people who die intestate (without a Will), the amount they automatically leave their children is reducing.

Under the rules of intestacy, if you die without children, your spouse inherits everything. However, if there are children, your spouse inherits your personal chattels and the first £322,000, which is increasing from £270,000.

The remainder will be split 50:50 between your spouse and children.

Whislt this might suit you, the chances are it does not. So pick up the phone and book in an appointment to set up or review your Will.
